Deepwater Horizon Florida: Following the April 20, 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill, the state of Florida implemented response operations and emergency restoration. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is the lead state agency for responding to impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the resulting restoration process.

Florida Institute of Oceanography (FIO): FIO is the Gulf coast state entity responsible for administering the Florida RESTORE Act Centers of Excellence Program (FLRACEP).
