Organizations

The following is a list of nonprofits and other organizations that while may not be directly engaged with technology research and development, they are involved in marine and environmental science related issues and business development. These organizations may serve as a valuable resource partner for information and other assistance or as a potential project partner. 

GulfBase.org - Assets: Listing of Gulf-wide university-operated ocean research vessels, advanced ocean platforms (robots, buoys, moorings, subs), and ocean sensing and sampling systems.

NOARC (National Oceans and Applications Research Center): NOARC is a private, independent, 501.c.3 development corporation chartered by the State of Mississippi to promote, conduct, foster and facilitate collaborative fundamental and applied scientific research between academic organizations, federal and state governments, ocean and environmental scientists and private partners. 

ERDCWERX: Created under a Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) between DEFENSEWERX and the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) ERDCWERX aims to discover new commercial opportunities that leverage the research, IP portfolio, facilities, and unique testing capabilities at ERDC. The PIA helps ERDC drive technologies faster to meet warfighter needs, identify new opportunities for collaboration, solve complex technical challenges, and create new business environments that convert innovation into valued outcomes.

Mississippi’s Defense-Related Blue Economy: This study sponsored by the Mississippi Defense Diversification Initiative (MDDI) was prepared under contract with the National Security Technology Acceleration Support and Economic Diversification Efforts for the State of Mississippi, with financial support from the Office of Economic Adjustment, Department of Defense.
